Hell Fire Preaching at Boston Commons Tent Meeting 30th Anniversary

Deputation update week of June 15th Wow! We had a tremendous week serving the Lord. This week was kicked off by attending the 30th Anniversary of an Old Fashioned Boston Tent Meeting. Pastor Gary Corbin has been doing this tent meeting/Revival/Prayer for Israel for 30 years, right on the Boston Commons, MA. The Lord allowed us the opportunity to attend on the first day of the meeting. Now while the weather was poor (it rained all day) the opportunity to witness and fellowship with the brethren was a bright spot. Many people walked the commons and most were receptive to receiving a gospel tract, though they desired an umbrella more.
I also was given the opportunity to preach during the meeting. God allowed me to use Isaiah 6. So I preached on the reverence and holiness of God and being motivated by the lost and dying going to a place of hellfire, brimstone and torment.
It was a real surprise to have some fellowship with Brother Hatfield from Beth HaMidrash Baptist Congregation (Milwaukee). We first meet brother Hatfield back in 2005 when he was traveling with his Tabernacle display; the Lord has been using him in a mighty way.
The high point of the evening was Brother McGuire giving Brother and Sister Corbin some accolades for their continued service to the Lord. Much of the Corbin’s service goes largely unnoticed by “Christendom” it was very apropos to see them acknowledged.
The rest of the week was filled with long hours at work to offset the lack of vacation time for Monday. With that said I had several talks with area Pastors and was even able to schedule a meeting for the end of July, praise God! Please continue to pray for our ministry as we have sent the first of many packages to the Philippines, this week. Also tomorrow, we have the opportunity to present our ministry with Pastor Qualls and in Clinton MA.
Lastly, we will be ending the month of June with a Youth Conference we are attending in Howland, ME at Howland Baptist Church.  I appreciate Brother Jeremiah Chasse asking me to preach for both days of the conference and pastor Dale Chasse for giving us another opportunity to visit their church.  We are very excited about how God is using us and are very excited about all of the opportunities we are being given to share our ministry of being missionaries to the Philippines.

Broadcasting live

--Report from Radio Ultra 1188, courtesy of Pastor Madrid—
As you may know, last Sunday I had the privilege of preaching on the radio in Cagayan, Philippines.  Praise the Lord; this was a first and a blessing that can only come from God.  The bible says that “By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name “Hebrews 13:15, which is what I am doing, praising HIM.  Therefore, I arose early and tried to prepare my mind and thoughts to preach and teach the word of God.  Once the phone call came, I settled in and preached “the gospel witness”.  This was a combination of the Corinthians road and the Romans road.  I just plainly and clearly showed what the gospel is (the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ).  Once complete, then I shifted into the Romans road with a stop at the White Throne Judgment (Rev 20:11-15).  Lastly, I received the indicator that the time was up and finished, turning the microphone over the host pastor Madrid, who finished with prayer and an invitation.  After the program had concluded pastor Madrid received a phone call from a man who had never heard a clear presentation of the gospel.  He told pastor Madrid that he had written down all the references although he did not have a bible of his own and knew he was lost and needed the saviour.  They prayed and prayerfully pastor Madrid will be making a house visit this Sunday, to minister to the man and his family, as they are lost.  Please pray with us for this man’s family that they might come to the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Often times, what we don’t realize is that people are listening and observing all that we do and say for the Lord Jesus. We might be tempted to be fancy and try to elevate our words, so that we seem wise and enticing, but the Bible says we should not: “And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:” 1Corinthinas 2:4.  It would do us all good to recognize that the power comes from God.  Far too often, I suspect we miss this fact, falling short, powerless and come off in a fleshy and phariseeceutical manner.  This is distastefully rejected by the lost and dying world who desires the truth to be told to them (see Luke 18).  Now they might reject the truth (Ga 4:16) but if you will preach, 1Corinthians 2:2…save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.  It will be up to God to do the work!  They only thing we have is the word of God and its life changing, mind transforming and regenerating power of his Holy word.

A day of leaning and witness

What a spirit filled day, had the opportunity to go and listen to attorney David Gibbs speak.  He was teaching on the precepts of fiscal liability through the lens of Risk Management.  Wow there is many areas of ministry that churches assume liability that they were not aware of.  Also listened to a preacher teach on pastors being secure in their leadership.  This truly is an area that many struggle with and thus their ministry is hindered.  A pastor should follow these points:
Do not blame others- take charge
Be adaptable
Deal with the issues in the here and now
Be self-aware –of your own weaknesses
Have a vision filled with passion
Then had some time to discuss many topics with my pastor on the ride back to the church house.  We arrived just in time for door-to-door visitation.  I had two interesting witnessing opportunities: One was a group of children that seemed to keep growing as I shared the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.  The small children seemed to be encouraged by the gospel message.  I also had brief conversation with, what I perceived to their dad about “end-times”.  Then a little latter I knocked on a man’s door named ….. Now at first this man said he was sacramentailst in his views and tried to give back the John and Romans.  I told him that he should read it for himself, which got him to start thinking.  I then stated that we are all human beings, but one day the human aspect will pass way; but we will still be a being destined to one of two places.  What seemed to start out as a poor witness, instead turned out as an excellent opportunity to share the complete gospel message and leave him with it’s a “whosever” and it is up to him.

Jesus of Nazareth

The phrase “Jesus of Nazareth” appears 17 times in the Bible.  This title was originally a label of contempt but in the end it is used, to give him honor by those who hold the Lord, with the utmost respect  and admiration.  The number 17 typically symbolizes “overcoming the enemy and complete victory”.  Oh, how so divinely perfect!  Jesus of Nazareth has purchased the victory, if you will but accept him.  All you must do is have faith in his unmerited grace (Eph 2:8-9) and you will have the victory!
